What Is Python Bootcamp?
Where Did Python Come From?

Here at Hackbright, we have a question for you. What do you get when you combine a desire for code readability with a love for irreverent British sketch comedy? Well, if you’re Guido van Rossum, the answer is Python. Python is a multi-paradigm coding language originally developed by Dutch programmer Guido van Rossum in the mid-1980s. It was named after the Monty Python comedy group.
Why Learn Python?
Python is simple enough to be accessible to beginners while also being powerful enough to be used by professionals and veteran programmers. From gaming to education software, from web development to data science and machine learning, Python has made its mark across a range of industries and interests.
So, How Does One Go About Learning How to Use It?
Although Python can be a great place to start your coding journey, it’s probably not something that you can jump right into without any sort of education. And, for those who don’t have the time, patience, or funding to pursue a traditional computer science degree, knowing where to get that education may be the most difficult part. That’s where Python coding bootcamps come in.
What Is a Python Coding Bootcamp?
A Python bootcamp is an accelerated, technical training program designed to teach students the Python programming language in an immersive, hands-on environment. Hackbright Academy is an example of a bootcamp that offers Python-centered software engineering courses that are designed to help prepare students for entry-level jobs in the world of tech. By accelerating the curriculum, bootcamps can help graduates receive an education relatively quickly.

How Long Does It Take to Complete Python Coding Bootcamp?
Most bootcamps offer an education in a matter of months. At Hackbright Academy, our courses range from part-time to full-time and five weeks (Prep Course) to twenty-six weeks (Software Engineering).
Hackbright Takes Python Bootcamps Further
Founded in 2012 with the mandate to create a more gender-equal technology industry, Hackbright Academy is a women-only, Python-centered coding school that has helped hundreds of women gain the skills and knowledge they need to begin new careers in tech. But while Hackbright may place a lot of focus on Python, graduates enjoy a more well-rounded, full-stack education than is available at many Python bootcamps.
This is because, as valuable as Python is for both beginners and professionals, it’s still just one piece of the puzzle. That’s why the Hackbright curriculum also includes training in JavaScript, Flask, Jinja, and PostgreSQL. This prepares Hackbright graduates for tech positions across a variety of industries and helps ensure that graduates come away with a positive experience.
Python Bootcamp: Coding Proficiency Done Right
Python may have started as an off-the-wall programming solution and an even more off-the-wall sketch comedy reference, but it’s become a foundational coding language for the modern tech industry. Learning Python and other programming skills can empower students to enter that industry with confidence. And thanks to the accelerated nature of the Python bootcamps, these students can get out of the classroom and into the workplace.
